began his career directing theatre. Deciding he wanted to work in the film and television business he took on Production Coordinating work moving quickly forward into editing. While editing he has worked with such actors as Dan Aykroyd, Natasha Kinski, and Carla Gugino. Garnering a recent Emmy nomination for his current work, Jonny has turned his focus to producing. Partnering with writer / director Todd Portugal, they have opened Middle Child Productions. He recently wrapped work on “Death Valley.” Projects in development include Looking for Love, Spy School, and Splat. Middle Child’s short series “The Rules” is being set up at Pander Productions for development with a new outlet planning to focus on short films.
had his first success as a writer / director with the independent feature film "Flooding," when it was released as part of Hollywood Video's First Rites program, quickly becoming a number one video rental. Since then, Portugal has gone on to write, produce, and direct the film "Soul Mates" with Rachel Hunter and was subsequently hand-picked by Steve Oedekerk to direct the comedy spoof "The Blair Thumb" for Showtime. He is also a multiple Emmy award nominee.
